MLB DRAFT History

In 2026, Apex set the all-time MLBDraft record for after 2nd round with Jensen Hirschkorn’s deal.

Since 2013, Apex Baseball has advised 46 top-2 Round Picks - 4th most of any agency in baseball.

Apex Baseball has negotiated over $100mm in draft bonuses in the last 10 years. 

With a focus on client needs, and a small, concentrated overall class, Apex continues to be the premier and dynamic mid-sized agency. 

DRAFT Approach

While each pick, player, and family are ultimately unique, our Apex team, led by Adam Karon and Tripper Johnson, works to maximize the financial, developmental, and personal opportunities for every client. In the last 10 years we have negotiated more than $100 million in MLB Draft signing bonuses, delivering results that reflect each player's individual value and long-term goals.

Our two first-round picks in the 2023 MLB Draft were advised by Apex Baseball out of high school but chose to attend college after being advised to turn down second-round money in the 2020 Draft.

With multiple Day 1 Draft picks, Apex Baseball continues to prioritize each player's individual needs while securing the best possible outcome both financially and developmentally.

The 2026 MLB Draft showcased Apex's ability to maximize both draft position and signing value. Apex represented 13 drafted players who negotiated more than $23.7 million in bonuses, highlighted by No. 4 overall pick Jackson Flora, Jensen Hirschkorn's $4 million signing bonus—more than $3 million above slot—and multiple above-slot negotiations throughout the draft.

The team at Apex Baseball negotiated more than 200 arbitration settlements and awards in the last twenty years. Since the 2020 Season, Apex oversaw 5 client cases in 2022, 10 in 2023, and is on track to negotiate as many as 14 cases in 2024.

ARBITRATION RECENT HISTORY

In 2026, Apex successfully won Kris Bubic's arbitration hearing, securing a $6.15mm salary award after the club filed at $5.15mm.

In 2024, Apex secured a $8.55mm arb salary for Will Smith, breaking a 10-year record for a 2SAE Catcher
